Stuart Hansford

Head of Strategy

Stuart is an experienced learning and development professional having worked in a variety of industries including mining, aeronautics and energy. He has managed an enterprise registered training organisation (RTO) and developed competency-based training frameworks for the delivery of operational training. 

After an early career in the military (Army) for 25 years, Stuart has held Learning roles for Rio Tinto, Peabody Energy (Australian operations) and was the chief education and training officer for Airservices Australia (air traffic control and aviation rescue and fire fighting). Prior to joining Thomson Bridge, he was senior manager learning and development, technical training for AGL Energy's thermal, wind and hydro generation assets.

 

Stuart has significant involvement in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector having been the chair of the board for Central Queensland Institute of TAFE; a member of an industry reference committee including the updating AVI and PUA training packages; and, an industry representative in the enterprise RTO association.

Qualifications

Stuart holds a variety of vocational qualifications in training and audit as well as an Associate Diploma in Human Resource Management and a Master of Education (specialising in adult education and training).
