Professor Mark Wiggins joins Thomson Bridge Industry Advisory Committee to shine the light on Human Factors

We are delighted to announce that Professor Mark Wiggins has joined Thomson Bridge’s Industry Advisory Committee.

Mark is a Professor of Organisational Psychology and Registered Psychologist at Macquarie University. Professor Wiggins’ expertise in psychology will be instrumental in providing a deeper understanding of human behaviour, motivations, and dynamics that influence our industry.

Mark is also the Lead at Macquarie University for the development of the innovative online cognitive assessment tool, EXPERTise 2.0.

As a practitioner, Mark has investigated human factors-related issues in electricity generation, transmission and distribution, marine operations, aviation, and the rail industry. He has also delivered human factors training courses to accident investigators, train controllers, emergency physicians, aircraft pilots, electricity network service operators, communications technicians, and defence force personnel.

Our clients across the energy sector have workers performing in high-risk, high-consequence environments. For Thomson Bridge, the incorporation of Human Factors awareness in our training services is vital to ensure safety, optimise performance, prevent errors, maintain situational awareness, and enhance training effectiveness. By understanding and applying human factors principles, organisations can create safer and more efficient environments for individuals to work and thrive in.
